Blue skies and sunshine greeted junior golfers at the Gibraltar come-and-try session recently.

Held alongside the course lake and with a sausage sizzle to enjoy, the kids had a blast.

“One of the kids was even begging his mum to sign up for the term clinics,” said Tanya Smith, Jack Newton Junior Golf territory manager.

Delivered by head professional Jeremy Farr and Tanya herself in beautiful Bowral in the New South Wales’ southern highlands region, the kids transitioned between long game, chipping and putting.

“By the end we had the kids hitting aqua balls toward the boat in the middle of the lake,” Tanya said.

“One of the kids hit the target, starting some friendly competition with parents and grandparents deciding to have a go!”

With all equipment provided, participants just showed up and had fun!

“It was awesome to see that the participation level was great and the kids had the opportunity to learn some fundamentals in golf,” Jeremy said.

"Hopefully we have created some interest in the community that the juniors we teach will be the future of this great sport.”
