Searching for a way to entertain the kids over the school holidays?

MyGolf camps are the way to go!

More than 100 Queenslanders enjoyed entertaining activities over the winter break, with little or no previous experience of golf.

All four camps provided games developing co-ordination, grip, rules and etiquette –  all based on having fun!

Host MyGolf clubs Emerald, Gladstone, Charters Towers and Rowes Bay were ecstatic to run the program.

“Over the four clinics we saw more than 100 juniors either pick up a club for the first time, or continue to develop their skills in the game,” Golf Queensland development officer Scott Simons said.

“All MyGolfers had a great time and we look forward to returning to these districts in future to run more MyGolf camps.

“The support of the local districts, host clubs, golf professionals and local sponsorships was instrumental to the clinics success.”

Across two days providing full swing, chipping and putting, the juniors tried out new golf skills for their first time on course.

On hand to teach the juniors were PGA Professionals Scott Simons, David Lord, Matt Victorsen, Doug Gardner, Alison Munt, Nicola Moult and Golf Queensland's development officer Sally Stringer.

“The stakeholders play a valuable role in the future success of our game and should be commended for the commitment and investment in the juniors,” Scott said.
